About Barbados |
The most Easterly of the Caribbean Islands, Barbados enjoys year-round trade winds that keep the temperature in a range of high 20's to low 30's Celsius.
The fishing and boating is excellent all year, with the Tropical hurricane season doing little to disrupt watersports activities. Many hurricane tracks pass far enough North or South of Barbados that heavy seas, wind and rain are the only effects of a hurricane's passage through the Island chain..
Discovered by the Portugese and settled by the English in the first half of the 17th Century, Barbados has kept many English traditions to heart, including club cricket, soccer (which we call football) and afternoon tea.
With the second oldest Parliament outside of the UK, Barbados has enjoyed centuries of democratic rule and a stable economy, making it an ideal vacation spot or holiday domicile.
